Member of This Band ( Former Drummer Bob Bryar)

Bob Bryar

Robert Nathaniel Cory Bryar, also known as Bob Bryar was born December 31st, 1979, in Chicago, Illinois. He is the only member of My Chemical Romance who is not from New Jersey.  He attended school at Eisenhower Junior High in Darien, Illinois. Bob once played drums and symphonic in a jazz band.

Bob replaced Matt Pelissier

He replaced Matt Pelissier in 2004. There is not toco much information on Matt, and My Chemical Romance doesn't talk much about him because they "don't like to talk shit", but it seems that Matt was kicked out of the band because he kept messing up onstage, plus no one was happy playing shows together anymore.

My Chemical Romance

Bob was once a front of house sound technician for The Used, and met My Chemical Romance while on tour with The Used. My Chemical Romance had trouble with their old drummer, so it was a given they needed a new one. That's when Bob here comes in. He helped My Chemical Romance out a lot and is one of the best new drummers going today. With his own style, Bryar is now a permanent drummer of My Chemical Romance. He has earned the respect of his fellow band mates by being a dedicated and hard worker. Frank Iero (rhythm guitar) was once quoted,

"Bob and Toro are the two hardest working people I've ever met, and if there is a God, I thank him everyday for bringing us Bob." Every show that Bob has played with My Chemical Romance, Gerard has been sober.

Cameras

There have always been disagreements between Bob and people who try to take his picture. He dislikes being photographed or filmed, and prefers to be the one behind the camera. Bob is known to either walk in the other direction if he sees a camera, hit the camera, or curse repeatedly at the person who is trying to take the picture/film him.

Favorite bands, injuries

Bob is a fan of Black Sabbath and thinks England is cold. He has his ears gauged at 24, and next time you see him, make sure to gaze into those baby blues of his. Bob is a cat person. Unfortunately, he has gotten hurt. Some are minor injuries and other... not so minor. He was once pushed out of a bus, as well as receiving a busted nose from a bar fight with security tough guy. He has had is heart broken (long story), and well, as for the brain damage. He refuses to comment.

Quotes

"I get these urges to fuck off sometimes."

"People think that moose are really gentle and goofy but they aren't; they're fucking animals."
To clear out what the real reason why Matt Pelisser was kicked out, I mean fired in the band is that, the rest of of the band are dissatisfied with his drumming and was replaced by Bob Bryar. Bob Bryar was offered by the manager of My Chemical Romance that time, Brian Schechter to work with the band and said "Yes, I'll do it for free. I'll tour with you for free."

The band and the rest of the band parted ways at February of 2010 which was a painful decision made by the band. He was replaced by Michael Pedicone as a touring drummer.

Members of This Band (Lead Guitar and Back up Vocals Ray Toro)

Full Name: Raymond (Manuel) Toro-Ortiz
Date of Birth: July 15, 1977
Hometown: Kearny, New Jersey
Band Position: Lead Guitar; Vocals (Backing)
Astrological Sign: Cancer
Chinese Zodiac Sign: Snake
Fan-made Nicknames: Fro-man, Toro-saurus
Ray Toro born Raymond Toro-Ortiz, grew up in Kearny, New Jersey (approximately 3.8 miles (6.11 km) outside of Newark). He grew up in a Puerto Rican household and his mother was very protective of her children, understandably so considering the area they lived in; police finding dead bodies floating in the lake at the local park (West Hudson) around the corner, doesn’t allow for sweet dreams. Ray’s older brother introduced him to the beauty that is Iron Maiden, and the guitarist inside was set free on the world.
Ray never really knew that those two guys he had met one day in a restaurant, Mikey Way and his older brother Gerard would later become two of his future band mates. Ray studied film at the William Paterson University before meeting Gerard (again) and former band mate/drummer Matt Pelissier, and joining/forming My Chemical Romance. Ray is the lead guitarist of the band, writes most of the songs, and is known to his band mates as one of the hardest working people they know (along with Bob).
Ray is most conveniently recognizable by his styling afro, which many fans around the world worship and bow down to at many ‘fro’ shrines across the internet. His many injuries include: guitar burn (described as “similar to rug burn, generally affects the forearm area, some specialists attribute it to sweat, friction, and intense rocking”); a large gash to the head (when he was hit on the head by fellow band mate, Frank Iero’s guitar resulting in a concussion, and after he was hit he continued playing); seventeen stitches on the lip (was hit in the face with a microphone during a set where Gerard swung his microphone); snare drum to the head (the drummer, Bob Bryar was elevated 11 feet above the rest of the band, and during the set Bob’s snare drum fell down onto Ray’s head; this set up has not been used since); and nasty hangnail to round out the list.

Ray Toro is currently married to his long time girlfriend Christa. Right now, He(Ray) and Mikey are the nes in the four members of the band who haven't got children just like Frank and Gerard have.

Members of This Band (Bassist Mikey Way)

Mikey Way was born Michael James Way, on September 10, 1980 in Newark, New Jersey, where he grew up. He is the younger brother of Gerard Way, (with whom he has a very close relationship, and is also Scottish/Italian, like his brother). Mikey is related to Joe Rogan, Host of the NBC game/stunt show Fear Factor and former cast member of the sitcom News Radio (Joe is Mikey's mother's cousin's son). Growing up, Way worked for Barnes & Noble, in addition to being an intern at Eyeball Records (the company that put out My Chemical Romance's debut album, I brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love in 2002). The first concert he ever went to was a Smashing Pumpkins concert.
Mikey is the bassist of the band My Chemical Romance. Prior to My Chemical Romance, Mikey didn’t know how to play bass, and only learned to play in order to be in his brother's band. He dropped out of college for the sole purpose of playing in My Chemical Romance. He plays both A Highway 1 Precision Bass, and a Fender Standard Precision Bass. Mikey was also responsible for the band's name, which came from an Irvine Welsh novel Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance. He and Gerard's grandmother, Elena, happened to buy them their first tour van. Before he joined My Chemical Romance, Mikey auditioned for Pencey Prep (Frank Iero’s band previous to joining MCR), but did not make the cut. During the few first shows My Chemical Romance played, Mikey drank liquor heavily to mask his extreme stage fright. During the writing of The Black Parade, Mikey Way suffered from “near bi-polar disorder” and medicated himself with pills and alcohol. He eventually left the Paramour Mansion, where the band was recording, to get psychological help. Mikey is also known as Kobra Kid for the band's new album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. For the album, his color is yellow and is seen in the video for Na Na Na wearing a red leather jacket, a yellow helmet with the words "good luck" on the shield, and a yellow ray gun.

His favorite band is Anthrax, and can often be seen wearing his signature Anthrax shirt. Other favorite bands include The Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys, Iron Maiden, and The Misfits. Mikey is a recovering iPod junkie and an iPod battery hoarder. His favorite food is sushi and claims that he could eat his body weight in it. Schlock horror films are his absolute favorite. He has many pets, including dogs Piglet Tree Way and Puddles Way, and cats named Bunny Marie Way and Snowball Way. Mikey loves unicorns. On the opposite hand, he hates small spaces, large and open spaces, and shopping for groceries.

Mikey married fellow bassist Alicia Simmons on March 8, 2007 before a show at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Alicia Simmons-Way is a guitar tech and merch seller among other things. She’s tech’d for various bands including Avenged Sevenfold, Fall Out Boy, and Straylight Run, and has played surrogate bassist for From First to Last. Mikey and Alicia currently live together in New York, and are very happy with one another. Mikey and Alicia have matching tattoos on their wrists. The tattoo(s) consist of a heart shaped jar with flames emitting from it; across the jar reads, "FOREVER".

Mikey is nearsighted. Mikey has been pretty lucky, considering the only injuries he's ever gotten were liver damage, a few broken toes (an epic battle with a brick wall), and multiple respiratory infections, as well as being bassist in the top-charting band, My Chemical Romance.

The younger Way's trademark was his glasses, but that all changed in May of 2006. Mikey got Lasik eye surgery that corrected his nearsightedness and made the glasses superfluous. He no longer wears glasses.
As quoted from Mikey's myspace page:
"At the young age of 9 years, Michael James Way was struck with the affliction known as nearsightedness. Unable to see such things as the chalkboard, the movie screen (or anything more than 5 feet away) the lad was forced to get corrective lenses. Michael and his glasses spent many fruitful years together. They saw each other through the good times, as well as the bad. In May of 2006 this friendship came to a crashing halt. Michael's glasses met their end tragically, by way of Lasik eye surgery. The glasses leave behind two loving brothers, Ray Ban, Paul frank, and their father Chanel. Viewing times and dates will be announced shortly."

Members of this band (Rhythm Guitarist and co Lead Guitarist Frank Iero)

Frank Anthony Iero Jr (born October 31, 1981) is the rhythm guitarist, co-lead guitarist and backup vocalist of the alternative rock band My Chemical Romance as well as the vocalist of the post-hardcore band Leathermouth.
He was born in Belleville, New Jersey and grew up in Kearny, New Jersey. Iero attended Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington. As a child he suffered numerous bouts of bronchitis and ear infections which meant he spent a lot of his childhood in hospital and to this day he still suffers from Epstein Barr Virus which is usually to blame for his illnesses and absences on tour.Frank is also lactose intolerant and has other various food allergies. He went to Rutgers University on a scholarship, but dropped out to go on tour with My Chemical Romance.

Iero's parents split when he was young and he grew up living with his mother, who lent out her basement to her son's many band practices; his father and grandfather were musicians and both were big influences on Iero when he was young. His father urged him to play drums, but Iero later began playing the guitar.

Frank started playing in local bands on the New Jersey punk scene at age 11. Before joining My Chemical Romance he served as frontman for the punk band Pencey Prep. The band released an album, Heartbreak in Stereo, on the independent Eyeball Records before disbanding. Whilst playing with Pencey Prep, he became friends with Gerard Way and the other My Chemical Romance members, became a fan of their original demo and helped them get their first shows. After his band broke up, Frank played in several bands, including I Am A Graveyard,Hybrid, Sector 12, and American Nightmare before being offered the slot of rhythm guitar in My Chemical Romance. Iero is also the frontman of hardcore punk quintet Leathermouth, who released their debut album XO in January 2009, on Epitaph Records. He is involved in a tribute band to The Cure named The Love Cats, after the song of the same name, and played bass with Reggie And The Full Effect on their farewell tour.
He was a judge for the 7th annual Independent Music Awards to support independent artists.
On 7 December 2010, Iero parted ways with the record company Skeleton Crew he and his wife co-founded years earlier in order to concentrate on his family and his music with My Chemical Romance stating that, although he would have loved to carry on, he could not juggle his career with the band, the new additions to his family (newborn daughters) and co-running a business at the same time.

Equipment

In the earlier days of My Chemical Romance, Iero mainly used Gibson SG's & Epiphone Les Paul guitars (most notably his white Les Paul nicknamed 'Pansy' which proved popular amongst his fans but has since been broken while onstage) and Marshall amps. He has since switched to using Gibson Les Pauls (with the Neck Pick-up removed) and occasionally uses a Gibson SG. For the "World Contamination Tour" he has also been using an Epiphone Wilshire. He also used a Fender Stratocaster in the Desolation Row video.

On March 9, 2008 Iero married his long-term girlfriend Jamia Nestor after proposing during the recording of The Black Parade.
Iero has many tattoos including logos for the bands Black Flag and The Misfits, symbols of his love for his home state, New Jersey, a matching 'revenge' tattoo with James Dewees and others by acclaimed tattoo artist Kat Von D: a Frankenstein's monster and portraits of his grandmothers and grandfather, all of which were featured in Von D's book High Voltage Tattooand the latter of which was done on an episode of her reality show LA Ink in which Iero featured. In the aforementioned book, Von D states that she was present at Iero's wedding indicating that the two have remained friends.
Iero has expressed his pro-gay rights stance on numerous occasions, including wearing a pro-gay marriage t-shirt on tour and his home-custom red 'Homophobia is gay' t-shirt which has become a fan favourite. He also revealed to Rock Sound magazine that he voted for Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election.
He has been a vegetarian since childhood after discovering the mistreatment animals endure in slaughterhouses and rearing farms and in 2008 PETA dubbed Iero one of the World's Sexiest Vegetarians, alongside Alyssa Milano.
On September 7, 2010, Iero announced on the My Chemical Romance official website that he and his wife Jamia had become parents of twin girls named Cherry and Lily.

Members of this band (Vocalist Gerard Way)

Gerard Arthur Way is an American musician and comic book writer who has served as lead vocalist and co-founder of the band My Chemical Romance since its formation in 2001. He is also the writer of the Eisner Award-winning comic book The Umbrella Academy.

Gerard Way was born April 9, 1977 in Summit, New Jersey to Donna Lee (née Rush) and Donald Way. He has Italian ancestry on his mother's side and Scottish ancestry on his father's. He was raised in Belleville, New Jersey and first began singing publicly in the fourth grade, when he played the role of Peter Pan in a school musical production. His maternal grandmother, Elena Lee Rush, was a great creative influence who taught him to sing, paint, and perform from a young age; he has said that "she has taught me everything I know". Also, while in elementary school, the glam metal band Bon Jovi was instrumental in forming his love of music.
At the age of 15, Way was held at gunpoint, as he said in an April 2008 Rolling Stone interview: "I got held up with a .357 Magnum, had a gun pointed to my head and put on the floor, execution-style." He went on to say that "no matter how ugly the world gets or how stupid it shows me it is, I always have faith."
Way attended Belleville High School until he graduated in 1995. Deciding to pursue a career in the comic-book industry, he attended theSchool of Visual Arts in New York City, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1999.
Music
As teenagers Gerard and his brother Mikey Way, who later became the bassist of My Chemical Romance, were influenced by the bands Iron Maiden and The Misfits as well as British artists such as Pulp, Blur and Morrissey and The Smiths. Way originally wanted to be a guitarist. His grandmother bought him his first guitar at the age of eight and he played in short-lived bands such as Ray Gun Jones and Nancy Drew with future bandmate Ray Toro, but when he was not successful (one band kicking him out due to his lack of skill with the guitar), he chose to concentrate on his art career.
Way was working as an intern for Cartoon Network in New York City during the September 11, 2001 attacks. Seeing the effects of the attacks first-hand prompted Way to change his views on life in the following weeks. He told Spin magazine, "I literally said to myself, 'Fuck art. I’ve gotta get out of the basement. I’ve gotta see the world. I’ve gotta make a difference."To help deal with the emotional effects the attacks had on him, Way wrote the lyrics to the song "Skylines and Turnstiles", which has since been identified as the first song by My Chemical Romance. Soon after, My Chemical Romance began to assemble as a band.
Way has contributed vocally to bands such as Every Time I Die's 'Kill The Music', Head Automatica's 'Graduation Day', Say Anything's "In Defense Of The Genre", and The Oval Portrait's "From My Cold Dead Hands" and "Barnabus Collins Has More Skeletons In His Closet Than Vincent Price".
In many interviews Way has stated that music turned out to be an effective outlet to deal with his longtime battles against depression, alcoholism and prescription drug use. The use of music as a way to resolve personal battles has caused Way to create deeply personal songs such as "Helena," which was written in memory of his late grandmother.
In early 2009, Way and Japanese rock singer Kyosuke Himuro co-produced the new theme song for Advent Children Complete, the Blu-Ray director's cut of the movie sequel to the popular video game franchise, Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. He is also credited with writing the lyrics, and singing alongside Himuro. The song is entitled "Safe and Sound," and according to Himuro's website, will be available on iTunes on April 29, 2009."Safe and Sound" is only heard on the Japanese release of the film; the English release uses Himuro's "Calling" (the original ending theme for Advent Children) in place of it.

Writing

Gerard Way's first attempt at writing a comic was at the age of 16, writing a short-lived comic series called 'On Raven's Wings', which was cancelled after Issue 2 due to losing the art team; he was credited as Garry Way.
In 2007, Way began writing the comic-book miniseries The Umbrella Academy. Way wrote the story and illustrated the original version, but cartoonist Gabriel Ba recreated all of Way's original drawings in the final version. A few of Way's first drawings of the characters can be seen in the last few pages of the first book in the series, "The Apocalypse Suite".
The Apocalypse Suite was first released by Dark Horse Comics in their Free Comic Book Day issue on May 5, 2007.Since then, an eight-page story has been published on MySpace, entitled "Safe & Sound".The first official issue was released on September 19, 2007. The first issue to sell out and consequently there was a second printing released on October 17, 2007. The next installment was released on November 26, 2008.
He and fellow artists Shaun Simon and Becky Cloonan are currently in the process of developing and creating a new comic-book series titled "The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys", which Way announced at Comic Con 2009.

Cartoons

In 2001 Way co-created a cartoon with Joe Boyle called The Breakfast Monkey. They pitched it to Cartoon Network, but the network declined to pick up the concept on the grounds that it was too similar to the existing property Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Way has struggled with alcoholism and prescription drug addiction for many years and has now been sober since August 2004. In a recent issue of Spin magazine, he said that, having become a happier person and feeling more in control, he has been able to enjoy the occasional recreational drink.
On September 3, 2007 after a concert in Colorado, Way married LynZ of Mindless Self Indulgence backstage on the final date of the Projekt Revolution tour. A member of Live Nation's touring staff that was also an ordained minister performed the low-key ceremony. He currently lives with his wife in Los Angeles, California.Their daughter, Bandit Lee Way, was born in California on May 27, 2009.

How this rock band (my chemical romance) started

My Chemical Romance is an American rock band from New Jersey, formed in 2001. The band consists of lead vocalist Gerard Way, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero, and bassist Mikey Way and have a diverse sound incorporating elements of gothic rock, hardcore punk, emo, glam metal, indie rock, progressive rock, and, in later recordings, electronica. Shortly after forming, the band signed to Eyeball Recordsand released their debut album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love in 2002. They signed with Reprise Records the next year and released their major label debut Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in 2004; the album was a commercial success, and was awarded platinum status a little over a year later. The band eclipsed their previous success with their 2006 concept album, The Black Parade, which gained generally favorable reviews among music critics.Their fourth studio album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, was released on November 22, 2010, to positive reviews.

The band was formed by frontman Gerard Way and drummer Matt Pelissier approximately one week after the September 11 attacks. Witnessing the planes crash into the World Trade Center influenced Way's life to the extent that he decided to start a band. Way wrote the song "Skylines and Turnstiles" to express his feelings about September 11 and shortly thereafter, Ray Toro was recruited because at the time Way couldn't sing and play the guitar at the same time.[5] The name of the band was suggested by bass guitarist Mikey Way, younger brother of Gerard, who was working in a library when he was struck by the title of a book by Irvine Welsh named Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance. The first recording sessions were undertaken in Pelissier's attic, where the songs "Our Lady of Sorrows" (formerly called "Bring More Knives") and "Cubicles" were recorded. The band refers to those sessions as The Attic Demos. After hearing the demo, Mikey Way decided to join the band after dropping out of college. While with Eyeball Records, the band met Frank Iero, the lead vocalist and guitarist for Pencey Prep. Following Pencey Prep's split in 2001-02, Iero became a member of My Chemical Romance, just days prior to the recording of the band's debut album. They recorded their debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, just three months after the formation of the band and released it in 2002 through Eyeball Records. The album was produced by Thursday frontman Geoff Rickley after the band became friends with him while playing shows in New Jersey. Despite only joining the band a few days before the album recording sessions began, Iero played guitar on two of the tracks, one of which being "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville." During this time, the band was booked at the infamous venue, Big Daddy's, where they began to receive more attention.
My Chemical Romance offered free downloads through PureVolume and the social networking website MySpace, where they gained an initial fan base.

These informations are base on the internet website: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Chemical_Romance..

Well, this band is actually based on New Jersey wherein their last member who left the band, Robert Nathaniel"Bob" Bryar, the drummer, is the only member originated from Chicago and volunteered to be the tour drummer after the other members kicked out Matt Pelliser and do it for free, according to their video album "Life on the Murder Scene"

Gerard Arthur Way and Matt Pelliser started the band but the band name was given by the younger brother of Gerard, Mikey whom stucked in a book inside a library. and they started as a rising local band in New Jersey

Well, that's all I could share for now.
Thanks!
